Vertical Vibe Blouse

The grey version shown in the first three photos is knitted in Double Kid Mohair from Mohair by Canard in the color Grey Mélange 2101. Neckline Option 1 (rolled edge, eyelet row, and double rib) with long sleeves.

The brown version is knitted in Norma from Lang Yarns, color 268. Neckline Option 2 (folded double rib) with long sleeves.

The light yellow version is knitted in Yak Sport from A Knitter’s World, color Sunny Day. Neckline Option 2 (folded double rib) with long sleeves.

The dark blue version is knitted in Merino 120 from Lang Yarns, color Royal Blue, with ¾-length sleeves.

Description: Vertical Vibe Blouse is a top-down blouse featuring a saddle shoulder construction, double rib panels, and stockinette sections. The neckline is worked in double rib. After the neckline, the stitches are divided for shoulders, front, and back. The double rib continues over the shoulders and down the chest. Short rows are worked to shape the back neck for a comfortable fit. Once the shoulders and short rows are completed, the work is divided for sleeves, and body and sleeves are worked separately. The body is initially worked flat for front and back pieces, which are later joined and worked in the round. 

Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round, each featuring a vertical stripe of double rib extending from the shoulder.

Sleeves can be worked either ¾ length or long; the long sleeves have a slight flare at the cuff. Both the body and sleeves are finished with double rib, an eyelet row, and a rolled edge.

 Choosing Size: Vertical Vibe Blouse is designed with a movement allowance (ease) of –3 to +7 cm (–1.25” to +2.75”) for sizes XS–2XL. Sizes 3XL–5XL have slightly more ease, approximately +5 to +15 cm (2” to 6”). Measure your bust and choose the size corresponding to your actual bust circumference.

Needles

Circular needle 3.5 mm or 4 mm, 80 cm length.

Double-pointed needles 3.5 mm if you prefer not to use the Magic Loop technique when working the neckline or sleeves.

Stitch markers: 6 pcs.

Gauge (after washing)

10 × 10 cm = 22 sts × 32 rows on 3.5 mm needles in both pattern and stockinette stitch.

Note: The blouse is worked in a combination of double rib and stockinette stitch, which before washing do not have the same gauge. This means the blouse may curl slightly at the shoulders and on the back at the increases. After washing, the fabric will relax and flatten out. When drying, you can choose to block the double rib to match the stockinette gauge, although there will still be some variation between the large rib panels at the front and the smooth stockinette areas.The sample shown has not been blocked.
